#Intersect (2017)

Story of the Making

An inquiry into what lies at the intersection of performance and art as we know it is what transpired #Intersect – a collaboration between Devi Art Foundation and Gati Dance Forum. It emerged with the objective of bringing cutting edge contemporary visual artists and dancer-performers together to produce new work in collaboration.

Rajyashree Ramamurthi and Susanta Mandal’s performance was an interplay between notions of the body as a measure of space and form and the body as architecture. Surjit Nongmeikapam and Kartik Sood’s performance was titled The Big Dream. They explored their dreams from childhood and their dreams now. In the third performance, Rajan Rathore and Anpu Varkey’s envisioned an apocalyptic scenario, through signs of decay that are prevalent within the city they live in.
